Grant Making:

Turning Point recognises there are many community-based projects that are already providing valuable help and support to children in Kenya. We have recently entered into a partnership with one such project operating in the Korogocho slum - on the east side of Nairobi.

Kao la Tumaini was established by Pastor Moses Otunga and includes a feeding programme, a small nursery, and a secondary school. Pastor Moses was in need of help to enable him to build and equip two classrooms to enable the school to offer a complete secondary education. In 2007 Turning Point provided a grant to enable him to do this, so making it possible for many children to receive the benefit of a secondary education at an affordable price.

Turning Point are hoping to develop this link further, and also to establish links with other local initiatives.
