…and the second week

Monday saw a tired but determined Kenyan and UK team returning to Machakos for another round of camps, we followed the same programme as the first week but with the older children.

This is often a more rewarding week for the UK team as conversation is much easier with the kids who know more English, this helps relationships to go a bit further and for ministry times to go a bit deeper. There were various stories of God’s work during ministry times as He assured the kids of his love for them and presence with them and it was great for the team of leaders to be able to talk through things with the kids.

A highlight of the week is the final campfire which saw Mercy boldly taking to the stage/fireside with a poem and young Hamisi performing songs and raps he has written with another boy from Turning Point. Other kids danced traditional dances and sang their favourite songs and generally went crazy for a while having toasted marshmallows on sticks on the fire.
