We welcomed Ashley and Judy onto the team today. Ashley is over from the UK for Emily’s wedding (this coming Saturday), and Judy spends most of her time working in the TP office, with only occasional escapes into Kibera.
It was a busy morning, with 20 people stopping at our invitation for prayer. Unlike some weeks, when hardly anybody is sick and most people require prayer for work or school fees, this week there was a lot of sickness. Some went away untouched by any obvious healing, others arrived in pain or discomfort, and left having experienced healing.
Interestingly, none of the people I lay hands on experienced any immediate healing today, but the majority, if not all, of the people that Judy laid hands on experienced instant relief from pain. I asked Judy if she was feeling anything when she was praying for people, and she told me she felt a warmth through her body. Certainly this morning’s testimonies would suggest that God has empowered her to heal.
Just before we finished up for the day, a lady came and sat down. We thought she wanted prayer, but it turned out she wanted to let us know that someone we had prayed for last week, who was suffering from a toothache, had received healing and was completely better. It is so encouraging to us when people take the time to come back with this sort of report – God is good.
